KFOR-VI Service Members on Duty in Kosovo Mission



CHISINAU, March 6, 2017 — The National Army service members from the sixth contingent deployed to KFOR peacekeeping operation in Kosovo are carrying out the missions in the area of responsibility of Multinational Battle Group West (MNBG-W), together with their colleagues from Austria, Italy, and Slovenia.

According to contingent’s Commander, Maj. Constantin Cisleanu, the Moldovan service members are participating in missions of guard and defense of major importance facilities, patrol missions, and ensure the security of “Camp Villaggio Italia” base from Pech village.

The source also specified that the Moldovan peacekeepers trained their Italian colleagues who recently joined MNBG-W on crowd control.

At the same time, the engineer team conducted search exercises in the minefield and sessions on the danger of unexploded ammunition in Kosovo region.

The KFOR-6 contingent consisting of 40 service members left for Kosovo on December 5, 2016.
