Military Oath in Chisinau and Balti Garrisons (video)



 

CHISINAU, March 24, 2017 — Over 200 young soldiers took the military oath today, in Chisinau and Balti garrisons.

Thus, in Military compound 142 from Chisinau, 112 soldiers took the military oath during a ceremony attended by Deputy Defense Minister Gheorghe Galbura, National Army Commanding Officers Corps, parents, and relatives.

“Ahead of you, there are 11 months of training conducted by a sergeants, NCOs, and officers corps who studied the military discipline not only from books, but from training areas and international peacekeeping missions. I am sure that you saw their performance and their will to share their knowledge during the short period that you will serve within this unit. They familiarized you with the military life, taught you how to face challenges, while you showed abnegation, perseverance, and discipline”, said Deputy Minister Galbura.

Gheorghe Galbura congratulated the young soldiers on their results during the starting training course and told them to continue to be responsible in carrying out their missions.

During the ceremony, a group of unit’s service members presented square bashing and wrestling exercises. The Presidential Orchestra presented a military music program

Also today, in Balti, other 111 young men took the military oath in “Moldova” Brigade. The soldiers were congratulated by National Army Commander, Brigadier Gen. Igor Cutie, who assured them that the leadership of the Ministry of Defense and the National Army, as well as their Commanders, will fully support them during the military service.

After taking the military oath, the soldiers get a four-day leave. Then, they will be sent to National Army units. The mandatory military service lasts 12 months.
