National Defense Strategy Draft at the End of Development
CHISINAU, April 5, 2017 — The cross-departmental working group (CDWG) responsible for the development of the National Defense Strategy (NDS) organized on April 4, at the Ministry of Defense, the last working session in order to discuss the final changes to the document and its Implementation Plan.
The working group’s secretary, Aurel Fondos, reiterated the importance of the strategic document for the development of the national defense system and thanked the members of the CDWG for involvement, professionalism and responsibility in developing the strategy.
Aurel Fondos handed honor diplomas to the representatives of Central Public Authorities, academic environment and civil society working within the CDWG.
Col. Avram Iancu, expert in defense planning from Romania, received the National Army medal “For Strengthening the Brotherhood in Arms” for significant contribution to the development process of defense planning strategic documents.
The final version of the NDS draft and its accompanying dossier will be promoted in compliance with Law nr. 780 as of 12.27.2001 on legislative acts and Law nr. 345 as of 07.25.2003 on national defense.
