National Army Soldiers Donate Blood on World Blood Donor DayCHISINAU, June 14, 2017 — Over 300 soldiers from all the National Army garrisons donated blood on Tuesday, June 13 and Wednesday, June 14, as part of the World Blood Donor Day. The event was organized by the Ministry of Health, in cooperation with National Center for Blood Transfusion (NCBT). According to head of the Military Medical Service, LTC medic Ivan Petcov, in Chisinau, 70 students from the Military Academy of Armed Forces “Alexandru cel Bun” voluntarily donated blood at the blood collecting center from Palatul National “Nicolae Sulac”, while 50 service members from Military Compound 142 and “Stefan cel Mare” Brigade — at NCBT. The source specified that other 220 conscripts and service members of “Moldova” Brigade from Balti, “Dacia” Brigade from Cahul, and Artillery Unit from Ungheni donated blood at the local collecting centers. The World Blood Donor Day is marked annually on June 14. This year, it was celebrated under the slogan “How can you help? Donate blood! Donate now! Donate systematically!” |
