Explosive Objects Destroyed by Military Engineers in June



CHISINAU, July 3, 2017 — In June, the National Army engineers neutralized 26 explosive objects in villages from Dubasari, Singerei, Calarasi, Rezina, Ungheni, Leova, Causeni, and Anenii Noi districts.

According to Capt. Alexandru Muntean, specialist of the Engineer Service, during this period, an engineer team from the Engineer Battalion was called in to Gratiesti village from Chisinau, where three anti-tank projectiles of 75 mm caliber were found during agricultural works. The objects were destroyed at National Army Military training base from Bulboaca.

Also in June, another engineer team was called in to Roscani village, Anenii Noi, where they identified two artillery projectiles of 76 mm caliber and two bomb-launcher bombs of 82 mm caliber. The ammunition dated back to World War II and was destroyed at the training base under maximum security conditions.

This year, the military engineers found and destroyed 275 explosive objects throughout the country.
