German Military Attaché Decorated at End of Mandate

CHISINAU, August 22, 2017 — Deputy Defense Minister Gheorghe Galbura decorated today the military attaché of the German Federal Republic in the Republic of Moldova, LTC Marc Ascui, with the medal “For Strengthening the Brotherhood in Arms”. The medal was offered for the promotion of peace and democracy, contribution to enhancing the Moldovan-German defense cooperation, and on the occasion of the German officer’s end of mandate. The event was also attended by the new German military attaché, LTC Christian Ziese.

Gheorghe Galbura thanked LTC Marc Ascui for the efforts made in order to enhance the Moldovan-German relations, with a focus on military training, medicine, and logistics.

The Deputy Defense Minister also congratulated LTC Christian Ziese on his appointment and expressed the conviction that the military attaché will contribute, through his activity, to the consolidation of the Moldovan-German defense partnership.
