Turkey Assigns New Military Attaché to Republic of Moldova



CHISINAU, September 12, 2017 — Deputy Defense Minister Gheorghe Galbura and Chief of General Staff, National Army Commander, Brigadier Gen. Igor Cutie, met today with Ali Erdoğan Odabaş, chargé d’affaires of the Embassy of Turkey in our country, at the Ministry of Defense HQ.

The officials discussed about the current stage of bilateral defense relations, regional situation, and cooperation possibilities for the two armies.

Deputy Minister Galbura thanked for the assistance offered by the Turkish Government by training the Moldovan service members in military educational institutions, including the Partnership for Peace Training Center in Ankara.

During the visit at the Ministry of Defense, Ali Erdoğan Odabaş presented the military attaché of Turkey appointed to our country, based in Bucharest, LTC Irmak Durmaz.

Deputy Minister Galbura congratulated LTC Irmak Durmaz on his appointment and wished him success in his mandate.
