Demining Missions of National Army Engineers in SeptemberCHISINAU, October 2, 2017 — In September, the National Army engineers disposed of 26 explosive objects in villages from Anenii Noi, Causeni, Dubasari, Nisporeni, Orhei, Telenesti, and Stefan Voda districts. According to Maj. Igor Levitchi, deputy Chief of Engineer Service, during this period, the service members were called in 18 times to carry our engineer missions destroying artillery projectiles, air bombs, and bomb-launcher bombs. All the explosive objects dated back to World War II. The source mentioned that, recently, the engineers of “Codru” Engineer Battalion were called in to two villages from Causeni district — Cirnateni and Puhaceni — where they identified an artillery projectile of 122 mm caliber and an air bomb. The ammunition was destroyed under maximum security conditions. This year, the National Army engineers destroyed 323 explosive objects during 133 demining missions throughout the country. |
