Voluntary Blood Donation Campaign in the National Army



CHISINAU, October 17, 2017 — The Ministry of Defense, in cooperation with the National Center for Blood Transfusion (NCBT), organized today a voluntary blood donation campaign among the service members from all the National Army garrisons.

According to head of the Military Medical Service, LTC Ivan Petcov, within the campaign, over 350 service members and conscripts from Chisinau, Balti, Cahul, and Ungheni garrisons, as well as students from the Military Academy of Armed Forces “Alexandru cel Bun” (MAAF) donated blood.

The source specified that the officers, NCOs, and soldiers from “Moldova”, “Stefan cel Mare”, and “Dacia” Brigades, and from the Artillery Unit from Ungheni voluntarily donated blood at the local collecting centers. About 100 military students and service members from the MAAF donated blood at the institution’s collecting center, while the staff of Military Compound 142, Ministry of Defense, General Staff, and Anti-Air Missile Regiment — at the National Center for Blood Transfusion.

The National Army actively participates in all the blood donation campaigns organized by the NCBT.
