Guard Battalion Celebrates 25th Anniversary
CHISINAU, October 24, 2017 — The Guard Battalion of the National Army celebrated today the 25th anniversary within a ceremony held at Military Compound 142.
Deputy Minister of Defense Gheorghe Galbura congratulated the Battalion’s staff and mentioned the professionalism and commitment shown by every service member of the unit during their missions. “In these 25 years you have proved that you are a force able to fulfill the established duties. I assure you that the Ministry of Defense will continue to support the efforts of the unit’s Command aimed to consolidate the staff of officers and NCOs, to create good conditions of accommodation, training, equipment, and alimentation”, said Gheorghe Galbura.
The Deputy Minister of Defense awarded National Army medals and certificates of appreciation to a group of service members and former commanders for excellent results in combat readiness training and service performances.
The ceremony included wrestling exercises presented by the Special Forces Battalion, square bashing techniques presented by Honor Guard soldiers, equipment, vehicles, and weapons exhibitions, as well as a musical program.
The National Army Guard Battalion was established on October 16, 1992.
