Romanian Soldiers Commemorated on Romanian Army Day

CHISINAU, October 25, 2017 — National Army service members and students of the Military Academy of Armed Forces “Alexandru cel Bun” are participating in the activities organized by the Embassy of Romania in Chisinau on the occasion of the Romanian Army Day, within October 25-26.

On Wednesday, October 25, Deputy Defense Minister Gheorghe Galbura, together with Ambassador of Romania in the Republic of Moldova, Daniel Ionita, Romanian defense, air and military attaché, Col. Cristi Ladaniuc, as well as veterans, attended a church service performed by a group of priests at Heroes’ Cemetery from Chisinau, where 1020 soldiers who died in the two World Wars are buried. The officials also laid flowers at the heroes’ graves.

On Thursday, October 26, the National Army service members will attend a church service and lay flowers at the Honor cemetery in Varzaresti village, Nisporeni district.

The Romanian Army Day is celebrated yearly on October 25.
