Moldovan-Jordanian Dialogue at Ministry of Defense
CHISINAU, November 3, 2017 — State Secretary of the Ministry of Defense, Aurel Fondos, met with Ambassador of Jordan based in Bucharest, Saker Malkawi.
The main issues discussed during the meeting were the regional situation, opportunities for starting a bilateral military partnership, the international security aspects, and the defense policy orientation of the Republic of Moldova and Jordan.
The officials discussed about the Defense Capacity Building Initiative (DCBI) which the Republic of Moldova joined in 2014 that aims to reform and modernize the National Army.
Aurel Fondos thanked the Jordanian diplomat for the invitation to participate in 2016 in the eleventh Special Operations Forces Exhibition and Conference (SOFEX 2016) held in Amman, Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
Saker Malkawi expressed the interest to start a military cooperation with our country through implementation of joint projects in this sector. The official also mentioned the possibility to launch some assistance programs in the defense sector.
