Moldovan-British Military Cooperation Discussed at Ministry of Defense



CHISINAU, November 14, 2017 — Minister of Defense Eugen Sturza and Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Chisinau, Lucy Joyce, talked today about the bilateral military cooperation during a meeting at the Ministry of Defense HQ.

Eugen Sturza expressed his gratitude for the assistance offered by Great Britain in implementing the Defense Capacity Building Initiative (DCBI) and for the contribution to the linguistic training of service members who are to participate in the peacekeeping operation KFOR in Kosovo.

Eugen Sturza also appreciated the invitation to the exercise “Cambrian Patrol 2017” and the support offered by Great Britain to the team of military students during participation. This year, the National Army participated in “Cambrian Patrol” for the first time.

Ambassador Lucy Joyce mentioned that Great Britain is open for cooperation with the Ministry of Defense and will continue to offer assistance for the achievement of the reformation and modernization goals set by the new leadership of the institution.

At the end of the meeting, the officials agreed on strengthening the cooperation between the two armies.
