Media Communication Training for National Army Service Members



CHISINAU, November 28, 2017 — The Public Affairs Officers and the staff responsible for media communication from the National Army units and Ministry of Defense institutions are participating in a Public affairs training course, within November 28-30, 2017.

The activity is organized by the Media information and communication service of the Institutional Management Directorate together with a Mobile Training Team from Allied Joint Force Command Naples in order to improve communication with media at military unit level and to enhance the interaction with the local media of the staff responsible for communication.

During the course opening, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Defense, Aurel Fondos, mentioned that it is very important to accurately and timely inform the public about the National Army activities in order to maintain the defense institution’s credibility among society. “We want to have qualified PAOs who are trained to face the communication challenges at military unit level and we hope that this course will be very useful for you”, said Aurel Fondos.

The course agenda includes subjects regarding the media communication principles, crisis communication, news releases, press conferences, PA plans, social networks and web pages management, PA in NATO exercises. The training also includes workshops focusing on media communication activities.

The event was organized for the first time under this format and was attended by 20 National Army service members.
