The Expansion of the Moldovan-Slovak Military Partnership Discussed at the Ministry of Defense



CHISINAU, February 20, 2018 — Minister of Defense Eugen Sturza talked today with Ambassador of Slovakia to the Republic of Moldova, Dušan Dacho, about the bilateral military cooperation and the prospects for expanding it, during a meeting held at the Defense Ministry.

The two officials also addressed issues concerning the regional situation, the defense sector reformation, and the opportunities for cooperation within international organizations.

Eugen Sturza mentioned that the expansion of external partnerships is one of the priorities of the Ministry of Defense. In this respect, Minister Sturza expressed his hope that Slovakia and the Republic of Moldova will identify beneficial projects for the armies of the two countries, oriented towards training sectors, logistics and joint training in peacekeeping operations.

Dušan Dacho stated that Slovakia is interested in developing a bilateral military partnership and expressed his country’s availability to offer assistance in achieving this goal.
