Moldovan-Romanian Defense Cooperation Plan Signed in Bucharest



CHISINAU, April 26, 2018 — The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Moldova and the Ministry of National Defense of Romania signed a Bilateral Cooperation Plan for 2018. The document was signed by State Secretary for defense policy and international cooperation, Dumitru Minzarari, and his Romanian counterpart, Mircea Dusa.

The Plan includes joint training activities for the service members from Moldova and Romania, assistance provided by the Romanian Government for the continuation of the reformation and modernization process of our country’s defense sector and aims to consolidate the bilateral defense relations.

This year, the Moldovan-Romanian defense cooperation will focus on intensifying the exercises and trainings engaging military from both armies, increasing the number of scholarships offered to National Army officers and NCOs in military institutions from Romania, including the military medicine sector, as well as the expertise in implementing educational development programs supported by NATO.

The Bilateral Cooperation Plan between the Ministry of National Defense of Romania and the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Moldova for 2018 was signed in the framework of the Joint Moldovan-Romanian Defense Committee, held in Bucharest, Romania, within April 25-26, 2018.
