Sergeants and NCOs of the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe and United States European Command Visit the National Army

CHISINAU, May 11, 2018 — A team of sergeants from the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) and representatives of the United States European Command (US EUCOM) led by Command Senior Enlisted Leader Davor Petek are paying a visit to the Republic of Moldova within May 7-11, 2018.

According to chief of Strategic Planning Directorate of the General Staff, Col. Anatolie Zavtur, the visit’s objective is to exchange experience on professionalizing the noncommissioned officers and sergeants staff, as well as to discuss the prospects of cooperation in this sector.

At the Ministry of Defense, the delegation met with National Army NCOs and discussed subjects related to the role of the command sergeant within the military unit, the professional development and training of the NCOs and sergeants staff.

The source specified that, while in Chisinau, the delegation will visit the Noncommissioned Officers School of the Military Academy of Armed Forces “Alexandru cel Bun”, the 22nd Peacekeeping Battalion and the Special Forces Battalion “Fulger”.
