National Army Service Members to Benefit from Monthly Allowances for Housing Rental

CHISINAU, July 4, 2018 — The National Army’s contract-based military will benefit from monthly allowances for renting housing.

A decision in this regard has been taken during today’s session of the Cabinet of Ministers by approving the Regulation on the method of establishing and paying the monthly allowances for housing rental for National Army’s contract-based military.

According to Col. Alexei Munteanu, head of Department of Planning Financial and Techno-Material Resources, the document provides the payment of monthly allowances for the contract-based military who have not received housing, including military housing, in the garrison where they are conducting their military service and who are included in the registration list of petitioners who require military housing.

The source mentioned that the allowances will be calculated based on the salary of the National Army’s contract-based military.

Col. Munteanu added that the normative act also describes the methods and conditions for paying this monthly allowance depending on various service cases.

The draft of the Government Decision regarding the approval of the Regulation on the method of establishing and paying the monthly allowances for housing rental for National Army’s contract-based military was developed by the Ministry of Defense with the objective of implementing the art. 21 par. (5) of the Law No. 162 as of 07.22.2005 on the Statute of the military with the modifications and completions operated by Law No. 148 as of 07.14.2017 on the modification and completion of some legislative acts providing that “in case when there is no possibility of offering the military a suitable housing, he/she will receive a monthly allowance for housing rental in the amount and by the method established by the Government”.
