Military Decorated with “International Missions Cross” to Benefit from Nominal Allowances

CHISINAU, July 11, 2018 — National Army service members and other participants to international missions and operations who were decorated with the “International Missions Cross” will benefit from a nominal allowance for outstanding merits to the State.

A decision in this regard was made today during the session of the Cabinet of Ministers, according to a notice to the draft law on the modification and completion of the Law regarding veterans. The new law modifications provide that those who were decorated with crosses are to benefit from a nominal allowance for outstanding merits to the State.

According to the document, the persons who received State decorations of the “cross” type will have the right to obtain a nominal allowance only when their pension is established, in compliance with the legislation in force. As indicated in art. 22 par. (3) of the Law No. 190-XV as of May 8, 2003 regarding the veterans, the persons who fall into more categories of nominal allowance’s beneficiaries (received more State decorations) are to receive only one allowance of their choice.

This draft law aims to ensure additional measures of social protection for the citizens of the Republic of Moldova who participated in international missions and operations.
