British Military Attaché Decorated by Ministry of Defense



CHISINAU, September 6, 2018 — General State Secretary Radu Burduja decorated today the defense attaché of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in the Republic of Moldova based in Bucharest, Commander Neville McNally, with the medal “For Cooperation”.

The medal was offered for the military diplomat’s personal contribution to strengthening the Moldovan-British defense cooperation and on the ending of his mandate.

The General State Secretary thanked Commander McNally for the efforts made in order to reinforce the bilateral partnership.

Radu Burduja also appreciated the British Government’s assistance in modernizing Moldova’s national defense system. In this regard, the official mentioned the support offered in the area of training, strategic documents development in the framework of the Defense Capacity Building Initiative (DCBI), and the training of the students’ team from the Military Academy of Armed Forces “Alexandru cel Bun” (MAAF) for participation in the international competition “Cambrian Patrol” that takes place in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland every year.

Commander McNally stated that it had been a privilege for him to be the military attaché for Moldova. The official expressed the conviction that the Moldovan-British relations will continue to develop through the identification of new cooperation projects.

At the end of the meeting, the British military attaché donated a computer to the Ministry of Defense.

Also today, Commander McNally paid a visit to the MAAF where he met with the institution’s leadership and the military students who have been selected to participate in “Cambrian Patrol” in October.
