The Psychological Assistance in the Army Analyzed at Ministry of Defense

CHISINAU, October 3, 2018 — The psychological assistance in the army is the main topic of a training course conducted at the Ministry of Defense within October 1-4, 2018.

The activity is organized by the Personnel Directorate of the General Staff, in cooperation with the Military Psychology Department of the Lithuanian Armed Forces, and aims to train the military psychologists’ staff by acquiring the sector’s best international practices.

During the sessions, the 17 psychologists from the General Staff and the military units analyze the psychological assistance in the Lithuanian army and learn how to plan, organize and assess the activities related to their area of responsibility.

The participants are also familiarized with the Lithuanian experience regarding the psychologists’ role in selecting candidates for working in the army, deployment in international humanitarian missions and offering psychological assistance during deployment in theaters of operations.

The activity is part of the Cooperation Plan between Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Moldova and Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Lithuania for 2018.
