Silver for Military Students at International Competition in WalesCHISINAU, October 22, 2018 — The students of the Military Academy of Armed Forces “Alexandru cel Bun” (MAAF) have won the silver medal at the military competition “Cambrian Patrol 2018”. Sergiu Plop, the competition has been organized in Wales, within October The source specified that the Moldovan students, commanded by 1st Lt Stanislav Seremetov, have covered a distance of 60 km on foot, in Cambrian Mountains, during a period of 41 hours while carrying backpacks of 38 kg. In May and August 2018, the eight representatives of the Republic of Moldova have been trained by a group of service members from the 2nd Battalion of the Royal Irish Regiment. The trainings were conducted at National Army training centers and included missions of orientation, patrol, search, crossing a water course, as well as first aid and evacuation of the wounded. “Cambrian Patrol” was organized for the first time in 1960 in the region of Cambrian Mountains, on the west coast of Wales. The competition is considered one of the most challenging and prestigious military events and aims to test the discipline and the physical strength. The National Army is participating in “Cambrian Patrol” for the second time. |
