National Army Soldiers Continue Their Missions Helping the People Affected by Snowfalls



CHISINAU, January 12, 2019 — About 130 National Army service members with 19 vehicles have intervened in the last 24 hours in order to help the people and to eliminate the consequences of snowfalls.

According to chief of the National Army Operational Group, Col. Dumitru Sili, the conscripts and service members staff has been involved in 49 missions in the country’s central region in order to unblock vehicles on national roads, in Chisinau city, and in localities from Hincesti, Ialoveni, and Straseni districts.

The source specified that, during this period, the privates and sergeants from “Stefan cel Mare” Brigade, Guard Battalion, the 22nd Peacekeeping Battalion, Engineer Battalion, and Maintenance Base have intervened with 5 trucks, 7 HMMWVs, 2 cars and an ambulance.

Col. Sili added that, currently, other 373 soldiers with 24 special vehicles are ready to act, when needed, in snow removal and unblocking of localities and national roads.
