22 Explosive Objects Destroyed by National Army Engineers

CHISINAU, February 13, 2019 — The National Army engineers neutralized 22 explosive objects at the National Army Military Training Base on February 12, 2019.

According to head of Engineer Service, LTC Adrian Efros, the ammunition — artillery projectiles of 100 mm caliber dating back to World War II — has been discovered by locals in the forest near Hirbovat village, Anenii Noi district.

LTC Efros specified that the mission was conducted by a team of service members of the Engineer Battalion commanded by 1st Lt. Ion Golovei. The engineers transported the explosive objects to the training area in order to destroy them under maximum security conditions.

Since the beginning of this year, the military engineers have conducted six demining missions throughout the country, disposing of 29 explosive objects of various calibers.
