Military doctrine discussed in Vienna

CHISINAU, May 24, 2011 — The Chief of Main Staff, National Army Commander, Brigadier Gen. Iurie Dominic, takes part in a OSCE High-Level Military Doctrine Seminar held May 24-25 at the headquarters of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) from Vienna, Austria.

The event brought together around 300 senior officials, including leaders of defense area, chiefs of staff, senior military personnel, diplomats, academics and industry experts.

Participants will examine how changes in military technology and military doctrines have influenced the security in the OSCE area over the past five years.

The agenda also includes discussions on the way defense capabilities, interoperability and multinational operations are affected by military specialization and increasingly complex military systems.

OSCE organizes periodic military doctrine seminars in compliance with the 1999 Vienna Document, adopted by all OSCE member states. The Document contains information on the military information exchange issue, checking procedure and other forms of military co-operation.
