National Army Communication Specialists Get Ready for “Combined Endeavor 2011”

CHISINAU, June 8, 2011 — National Army communication specialists attend the final planning conference of Combined Endeavor 2011 Multinational Exercise, held during June 6-10, in Budva, Montenegro.

According to LTC Oleg Guzun, Chief of Information System Development Department, Communication and Information Systems Directorate, the conference brought together 250 servicemen from 40 NATO member countries and signatories of the Partnership for Peace Program. The event is meant to make the exercise scenario and working plan.

Combined Endeavor 2011 Multinational Exercise, scheduled for September 9-22, will be held in Grafenwöhr, Germany. The goal of the exercise is to reach a high level of operative compatibility, information, technical and software security through integration of national C4 systems, in order to support multinational military contingents assigned for humanitarian, peacekeeping missions and weather disaster relief operations.

Guzun said the National Army would send 10 servicemen, communication and information equipment (radio stations, network equipment) to this exercise.

The National Army has first participated in Combined Endeavor in 1998 as an observer. Since 1999, Moldovan servicemen have actively engaged in the exercise.
