Trade Unionists meet at the Ministry of Defense



CHISINAU, June 14, 2011 —"The Ministry’s of Defense leadership has always supported military and civilian employees and their families, that is why I insisted on meeting with the trade unionists and talk openly about their problems", Minister of Defense Vitalie Marinuta stated during the meeting with the National Army trade unionists hosted by the Ministry of Defense.

According to Nelli Onila, Chairperson of the Ministry’s of Defense Trade Union Committee, this meeting shows the commitment of the ministry’s and trade union’s leadership to solve the civilian employees’ problems related to social protection and labor protection issues.

The meeting focused on negotiation and conclusion of the Collective Bargaining Convention based on which labor agreements are concluded.

The discussions dealt with a few issues, including the distribution of rest tickets for children, families of military and civilian employees of the National Army.

During the meeting, the participants announced the Ministry’s of Defense Resting Camp would open the first tour June 20. The camp will accept 65-75 children aged 7 to 15 years old. The employees of the Central Military Hospital took all the necessary measures to make the camp work in accordance with the required sanitary norms.

The resting camp will organize 5 tours for the children of military and civilian employees of the National Army during summer holidays. In august, disabled children will also spend their summer holidays at the resting camp from Vadul lui Voda.
