Certificates for Retrained Servicemen



CHISINAU, June 17, 2011 — 84 graduates were awarded certificates within “Military Career Transition in the Republic of Moldova” Program carried out with the support of the Organization for Security and Cooperation Mission to Moldova in joint cooperation with the Republic of Moldova Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Moldova Academy of Economic Studies.

Deputy Minister of Defense Igor Panfile, who attended the ceremony, stated “specialties acquired after three months of studies in term of information technologies, small and middle business management and foreign languages, were selected according to the current labor market requirements of our country. This will definitely provide graduates with real opportunities to find a job”.

“I am sure the graduates of this course have a great chance to find a job. We would be happy to see them working and feel useful for the society as they used to be while in the military. We hope they will promote the image of the National Army and other military structures where they have worked for many years”, Igor Panfile stated.

Philip Remler, Chief of OSCE Mission to Republic of Moldova, stated “The project ‘Military Career Transition in the Republic of Moldova’ is part of the military reform initiatives supported by the OSCE Mission to Moldova. Beneficiaries of this project are servicemen of the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of the Interior, Carabineer Troops and Border Guard Service”.

The project has officially started September 14, 2010. It provides assistance to servicemen and reserve officers in order to facilitate their social and professional reintegration.

According to the memorandum, 300 people shall be trained the following three years. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Academy of Economic Studies were selected for the implementation of the above project.

The first group of students of “Military Career Transition in the Republic of Moldova” Program graduated in December 2010. At that moment, 74 graduates were awarded certificates to such specialties as: Information Technologies, small and middle business management, real estate assessment and foreign languages.
