Meeting of CIS Defense Ministers

CHISINAU, July 6 — Minister of Defense Vitalie Marinuta takes part as an observer in the meeting of the Council of Defense Ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

According to sources of the Defense Policy and Planning Directorate, the meeting of the CIS Defense Ministers Council is held July 6, 2011, in Soci, Russia. The working agenda consists of nearly 20 issues on both, military cooperation and organization.

The event will focus on military and technical military cooperation, establishment of a joint communication system, evaluation of its problems, planning of CIS military structures’ activities, and others.

In Soci, Minister Vitalie Marinuta will meet with his counterparts from other CIS states to discuss about the military bilateral cooperation issue.
