Vlad Filat Familiarizes with the National Army Staff Readiness for the August 27 Parade



CHISINAU, July 15 — Minister of Defense, Vitalie Marinuta, showed today to Prime-Minister Vlad Filat the National Army military equipment to take part in the military parade on August 27, marking the 20th anniversary of Republic of Moldova Independence.

During the demonstration, the head of the Cabinet of Ministers was told 65 military vehicles will take part in the military parade, including BTR-80, BRDM — 2, 2S9 Nona, and others, as well as mine launchers, anti-tank guns, anti-air systems, etc.

While in the Military Compound No.142, Vlad Filat also familiarized with the way the military personnel engaged in the parade are trained for marching on Marii Adunari National Square.

Prime Minister Vlad Filat appreciated the Ministry’s of Defense leadership for the high readiness of servicemen and technical equipment, expressing his confidence about the success of the parade. “The 20th anniversary of independence marked on August 27 is an event Republic of Moldova population should be proud of. This parade is not just a symbol, it is a need for our country. We are a state that should have all it needs, including a military parade”, Vlad Filat said.

Republic of Moldova Government allocated over 9,4 million MDL for the military parade. The event will bring together 1528 representatives of the National Army, Ministry of the Interior and the Border Guard Service.
