National Army Commander Visits Germany


The Chief of Main Staff, National Army Commander, Brigadier Gen. Iurie Dominic, attends the biannual conference of the US European Command (EUCOM) and the US National Guard cooperation with the partner states in compliance with the (State Partnership Program). The event will be held August 17-18 in Garmish, Germany.

According to LTC Grigore Chirica, Chief of Military Cooperation Department, J5 Strategic Planning Directorate of the Main Staff, the event marks the 20th anniversary of the State Partnership Program. The conference will bring together chiefs of main staff of the program member states, as well as chiefs of national guards of the U.S.

LTC Chirica said the conference will focus on how the program meets the needs and efforts of the participants, future cooperation funding, problems of global and regional security, as well as future trends of development of the above program.

The State Partnership Program was launched in December 1992 by the US National Guard Bureau. The program provides support to Central and East European countries. Republic of Moldova joined this program in 1995.
