NATO Exhibition at the Museum of History of Chisinau

CHISINAU, November 22, 2011 — The Photo Exhibition “Safeguarding Freedom and Security in the world” opened Tuesday, November 22, at the Museum of History of Chisinau.

Minister of Defense Vitalie Marinuta appreciated the role of this event for our national history. “It is not easy to make a good photo. However, as soon as you catch the right moment on your camera, this will definitely be part of history and live forever”, Marinuta stated.

The exhibition “Safeguarding Freedom and Security in the world” displays 38 photos provided by the embassies of the NATO member states. The pictures highlight the engagement of servicemen in NATO-led operations, as well as activities carried out by the NATO member states in common with the Republic of Moldova Defense Ministry and NATO Information and Documentation Center.

According to the program coordinator of NATO Information and Documentation Center, Nicolae Vascautan, the exhibition is meant to offer the Moldovan public a fair image of the NATO-led missions and their impact on security and democratic freedom in the world. “Through this exhibition, we intend to prove people that most missions carried out by the NATO member states are rehabilitation and relief missions of the conflict and post-conflict areas”, Nicolae Vascautan said.

The event highlights the efforts of the NATO allied states in term of promoting and strengthening security and freedom all over the world seen through the camera.

The exhibition will close November 29.
