Recruit Day in Hincesti



CHISINAU, May 5, 2012 — Over 300 recruits attended Saturday, May 5, the Recruit Day ceremony held on Hincesti stadium.

The event was organized by the Military Territorial Center and the Department of Education of Hincesti District Council and brought together young men that are to be conscripted this spring, as well as their parents, pupils, veterans and delegations of mayoralties of the district. The ceremony was also attended by representatives of Hincesti administration, as well as other authorities, that congratulated the recruits on that day.

The program of the event consisted of individual and team-based competitions. The winners were awarded diplomas and money prizes. The recruits competed at 100-meter distance running, pull-ups, relay race, weight lifting, rope pulling and others.

The guests of the event had the opportunity to watch wrestling exercises presented by Fulger Special Operations Battalion, a weapon-handling technique demonstrated by the Guard of Honor soldiers, listened to songs presented by Stefan cel Mare Brigade.

According to the Head of the Mobilization Resource Management Center, Col. Vitalie Besleaga, such kind of event are held in different regions of the country to promote military service, the image of the National Army in the society, youth civic education, as well as prepare the recruits for the army.

At the end of the event, the Commander of Hincesti Military Center, LTC Pavel Lupu, stated there are over 70 young men in Hincesti district to join the army during the spring conscription campaign.

The quoted source also stated that most of the 300 young men that attended the medical-military commission had been declared able for military service. However, those who study at the moment got military service adjournment.
