National Army Commander Attends International Defense and Security Conference

CHISINAU, June 28, 2012 — The Chief of Main Staff, Commander of the National Army, Brigadier Gen. Vitalie Stoian, attend June 28-29 the international defense and security conference in Batumi, Georgia.

According to Col. Ilie Cernenchi, Chief of J 5 Strategic Planning Division, Main Staff, the conference focuses on the review of current national, regional and international trends in the area.

During the visit, Brigadier Gen. Stoian will meet with Lt. Gen. Devi Tchankotadze, Head of the Joint Staff of the Georgian Armed Forces, where they will discuss a few international security and defense problems.

Cernenchi stated the international conference will bring together about 180 representatives of international organizations from Turkey, Estonia, Romania, USA, Lithuania, Finland, Norway, Great Britain, Poland and others, dealing with defense and security issues.
