Moldova Chooses Transparency
The parties attending the Joint Control Commission (JCC) meeting examined only one of the reports of the Joint Military Command. The others were postponed for the next meetings.
The key issue discussed during the meeting was Checkpoint No.9 from Vadul lui Voda and the situation created as a result of the tragic incident recorded at the beginning of this year. Our delegation asked for the transfer of the checkpoint to the Moldovan party’s subordination in order to avoid conflicts among people.
At the end of the meeting, Sergiu Gutu, JCC member on behalf of Republic of Moldova, informed the audience about the Blue Shield 2012 Peacekeeping Exercise carried out by the National Army at Bulboaca Training Site. He also stated that the military observers from Republic of Moldova, Russia, Ukraine and Transnistrian region carefully observed their activity in the field. Our delegation expressed its hope that when such exercises are organized, the representatives of other delegation will be as transparent as the National Army was.
