Professionalism and Performance at „Rapid Trident 2012”



Chisinau, July 27, 2012 — “The professionalism of Moldovan service members within Rapid Trident 2012 exercise is outstanding and the contingent deserves all our appreciation serving as a good example for other international military contingents, the American Colonel David Markowski, Deputy Director of “Rapid Trident 2012” exercise, stated during the closing ceremony of the exercise held today, at Yavorov Training Site, Ukraine.

According to the American official, the Moldovan contingent was engaged in all the missions of the exercise, showing efficiency in theaters of operations. “You have very good aggressive techniques and procedures, although some of them are different than ours. The US observers following your actions for two weeks considered you among the best. We want to see you here in the next few years and continue our cooperation in peacekeeping operations, build consistent partnership and friendship relations”, the Deputy Director of the exercise said.

In his turn, Maj. Gen. Veaceslav Nazarkin, Deputy Director of the exercise on behalf of Ukraine, stated the Moldovan service members worked along with the Ukrainians in a number of bilateral and multinational exercises, thus proving they are masters in carrying out their professional duties.

The Commander of the National Army contingent at “Rapid Trident 2012”, Maj. Vadim Moraru, stated the Moldovan contingent deserves all the appreciation due to the commitment they have shown during the training events of the exercise. “We are proud we managed to prove high readiness and be highly appreciated by our partners”, Moraru said.

At the end of the ceremony, the National Army service members were awarded certificates of appreciation and gifts.

“Rapid Trident” exercise was held during July 14-28 and brought together participants from 16 countries. The National Army deployed about 90 service members to the exercise.

“Rapid Trident” is a Partnership for Peace Multinational Peacekeeping Exercise which the National Army joined in 2007. The goal of the exercise is to enhance interoperability of PfP troops within peacekeeping operations.
