European Perspectives for National Military Education

CHISINAU, August 10, 2012 — The Chief of Main Staff, Commander of the National Army, Brigadier Gen. Vitalie Stoian, met Friday, August 10, with Lt. Gen. Karlheinz Viereck, Deputy Chief of Staff, Supreme Allied Commander Transformation, who came for a work visit to the Republic of Moldova.

During the meeting, the officials discussed about the current defense reform and the perspectives of development of the education process, doctrines and implementation of lessons learned by the Moldovan servicemen abroad in term of the National Army officers’ professional development.

Karlheinz Viereck also familiarized with the activity of the Continuous Training Center of Alexandru cel Bun Military Academy of the Armed Forces and discussed with the representatives of the institution about the possibility to organize an internationally accredited course in this area.

According to the rector of Alexandru cel Bun Military Academy, this course is a great opportunity for the Continuous Training Center to work in compliance with the international standards.
