Moldovan American Cooperation in Military Medicine and PsychologyChisinau, August 20, 2012 — Over 30 National Army psychologists and doctors attend the seminar “Military Program on Prophylaxis of Mental Diseases” held August According to Col. Eduard Ohladciuc, Head of Personnel Division of the Main Staff, the event is carried out in partering with the US Air Forces in Europe and covers the US experience in the military psychology are, with a focus on the mental health activity in the army. The source said the American military psychology experience is quite advanced and may be used as a point of reference by the National Army Psychological Service. The agenda of the seminar consists of theoretical and practical assignments within which the U.S. servicemen will show ways of stress management, programs of prophylaxis and treatment of the deviant behaviour in the army. The doctors of the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Health Care will also discuss about HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis Prophylaxis in the National Army. The program launched today evaluates the current problem of HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis Prophylaxis in the National Army. Based on this program, laboratory equipment to simplify the diagnosis of diseases in incipient phases will be donated, lessons and meetings with the participation of the staff invovled will be organized, as well as informative materials will be distributed in military units. In this period of time, the Moldovan-American delegation will visit the medical, military and sanitary institutions of the Ministry of Health Care, placed in the Chisinau Garrison.
