Military Academy Students Take Enlistment Oath



Chisinau, August 30, 2012 — 100 first-year students of Alexandru cel Bun Military Academy of the Armed Forces took the enlistment oath during a ceremony held on Arcul de Triumf square of the capital city.

The Chief of Main Staff, Commander of the National Army, Brigadier Gen. Vitalie Stoian, stated the oath-taking ceremony is an important moment for those who decided to take up the hard mission of country defender. “This day will be always in your mind. You will always remember it with pride all these years of studies and during your military career. From now on, you are part of the large family of the National Army, where only the strongest and the bravest are to serve the nation”, the Commander of the National Army told the first-year students.

The Rector of the Military Academy, Col. Mihail Buclis, pointed out this year the level of students admitted at the academy is much higher. This is the conclusion we drew after the admission exams and the integration course, where students proved to have strong knowledge and good physical shape. “I am confident that they will learn army science, train hard in order to become professionals and act with dynamism, efficiency and competency in all their missions”, Col. Buclis specified.

The oath taking ceremony brought together the leaders of the Ministry of Defense, Main Staff, war veterans and retired personnel, as well as students’ relatives.

This year, 100 young people were admitted at the Military Academy, including nine girls. 50 students will join infantry department, 25 — artillery and 25 — signal department. The length of studies at the Military Academy is four years. Accommodation, food and military equipment are free.
