State Awards for National Army Servicemen



Chisinau, August 31, 2012 — Over 30 officers and non-commissioned officers were awarded medals during an official ceremony on the 21st anniversary of the National Army.

The Chief of Main Staff, Commander of the National Army, Brigadier Gen. Vitalie Stoian awarded the medals “Service to Fatherland”, class 1, II and III, “For Excellent Service in the National Army”, “For Meritorious Service” and the Badge of Gratitude for excellent execution of service duty, contribution to a high level readiness of units and high professionalism.

Brigadier Gen. Vitalie Stoian thanked the staff for commitment, courage and responsibility in fulfilling their service duties. “The professionalism shown on training sites, in military units, UN- and OSCE-led peacekeeping operations proves the fact the National Army has got well-trained staff able to face the challenges occurred in any national and international mission”, Stoian said.

The Commander of the National Army specified that today, the army tells the population that its mission of defending the sovereignty and the statehood of the country will be always a priority. “We will keep honoring the tradition and the role of a core state institution and we will do our best and work with commitment, ambition and dignity not to deceive citizens’ confidence”, Gen. Stoian stated.

During a 21st anniversary concert, another group of servicemen were awarded the Diploma of the Republic of Moldova Government for great achievements in their daily activity after the Decree of Republic of Moldova President on awarding National Army servicemen had been read.
