Apply for U.S. Military Scholarships

CHISINAU, September 6, 2012 — Republic of Moldova citizens are welcome to apply for 2013 military scholarships at two of the most outstanding US military institutions of higher education — West Point Military Academy and the Air Force Academy. The Ministry of Defense informs that the scholarships are available for both, men and women aged 18 to 23. Applicants should be graduates of a high school or a higher level institution.

Candidates must be unmarried and have no legal obligation to support a child.

Moreover, applicants must speak English fluently. Hence, they are required to submit a TOEFL exam score. All West Point candidates are required to submit writing scores with their School Aptitude Test (SAT) and/or American College Test (ACT) exams before January 1, 2013.

Applicants of West Point Military Academy and Air Force Academy will have to pass a few sports exams to evaluate their physical readiness level. The sports tests will be conducted by the Ministry of Defense, in partnering with the US Embassy to Chisinau. Application folders may be submitted at the Human Resource Management Directorate until October 15, 2012.

Both academies have a four-year educational program. Tuition for cadets is fully funded by the American Government.
