President Nicolae Timofti Visits Dacia Brigade



Chisinau, October 17, 2012 — “Your missions is not easy at all, but I am confident that you will be able to face all the existent challenges, because only men with strong character go in for a military career”, Republic of Moldova President, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Nicolae Timofti, stated during the meeting with the corps of officers of Dacia Brigade from Cahul.

The Head of State, along with Defense Minister Vitalie Marinuta, visited the Cahul military unit to familiarize with the training and living conditions of conscripts and servicemen. Thus, President Timofti inspected the guard corps, the ammunition warehouse, the barrack, the linguistic laboratory and the museum of the unit. The official also watched an exhibition of technical equipment and military weapons of the unit.

President Timofti also discussed with the military contingent attending the training course of non-commissioned officers and sergeants of the National Army about the selection criteria and the distribution of the course graduates to military units, as well as about the military service execution conditions. “I’m aware of the fact that the army needs are bigger than the existent possibilities. However, I am certain that we will overcome these difficulties together and provide better conditions for those who have chosen the honorable job of homeland defender”, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces said.

At the end of the visit, President Nicolae Timofti put his signature in the Book of Honor of the brigade. The official also received the insignia of the unit on behalf of Dacia Commander, Col. Oleg Guzun.
