Minister of Defense Pays Official Visit to Turkey

Chisinau, November 1, 2012 — Minister of Defense Vitalie Marinuta pays an official visit to the Republic of Moldova November 1-2, within the governmental delegation headed by Prime Minister Vlad Filat.

In Ankara, the Moldovan Minister of Defense will meet with his Turkish counterpart, İsmet Yılmaz, to discuss some aspects of military cooperation between the armies. The two officials will conclude the Protocol of Cooperation in Cartography between the Republic of Moldova Ministry of Defense and the Turkish Minister of Defense.

Vitalie Marinuta will also attend the meeting of the Moldovan delegation with the Turkish President Abdullah Gül, the Governor of Istanbul, Huseyin Avni Mutulu, and the plenary meeting of the representatives of the Moldovan ad Turkish governments.

The Moldovan Turkish defense cooperation is based on the Agreement of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Moldova and the General Staff of the Republic of Turkey on the cooperation in the military training, technical and scientific areas concluded November 19, 1998.
