NATO officials visit the Republic of Moldova
CHISINAU, December 18th, 2012 — The Minister of Defense Vitalie Marinuţa had a meeting with the Head of Department for Regional Cooperation and Security of the International Military Staff (IMS) NATO, General Major Carlos Branco, who visits the Republic of Moldova in December 17 th −19th , 2012.
During the discussions, there were tackled subjects concerning cooperation between Moldova and NATO in the context of neutrality, the current state of defense sector reform and development of the National Army in preparing subunits for peacekeeping operations.
The Minister of Defence thanked the official for NATO assistance in carrying out of the reform processes and projects implemented with the organization’s support in Moldova, specifying that they have a positive impact on our citizens.
While in Chisinau, General Major Bronco will visit the Documentation and Information Centre on NATO and the Military Academy of the Armed Forces “Alexandru cel Bun”, and will give a speech about the role of NATO in the context of a continually changing security environment and military cooperation with NATO allies and partners.
