Vitalie Marinuta Meets with Dirk SchuebelChisinau, February 12, 2013 — Minister of Defense Vitalie Marinuta met together with Ambassador Dirk Schuebel, Head of European Union delegation to Republic of Moldova. The discussions focused on the social-political situation of the Republic of Moldova, national and regional security, as well as the reform of the security and defense area in our country. Vitalie Marinuta informed the European official about the current Ministry’s of Defense goals, including the approval of the National Defense Strategy and Military Code, as well as the consolidation of bilateral defense relations with the European Union countries. In his turn, Dirk Schuebel appreciated the importance of the Republic of Moldova’s Participation Agreement in EU crisis management missions concluded at the end of the last week by Prime Minister Vlad Filat and the EU Commission for External Relations. The EU Ambassador specified that this document gives Republic of Moldova the possibility to become a part of regional and international security maintenance, through active participation in the European Union joint security and external policy. |
