Professionalism and Performance at „Mission Readiness Exercise”



CHISINAU, March 26, 2013 — The excellent results recorded in Hohenfels and the international observers’ high appreciations prove you are ready enough to take part in any theater of operations, Brigadier Gen. Vitalie Stoian, Chief of Main Staff, Commander of the National Army, said during a ceremony held at the Ministry of Defense to conclude the Moldovan troops’ participation in the “Mission Readiness Exercise” in Germany.

The Commander of the National Army awarded diplomas of honor to the best soldiers that showed high professional level and competency in carrying out missions. “The experience you’ve got in Germany is a great advantage for your activity and future participation of the Moldovan troops in UN- and OSCE-led peacekeeping and peace building operations”, Brigadier Gen. Stoian said.

The US Defense Attache to Republic of Moldova, LTC Brian Stephan, said that new opportunities begin for the Moldovan soldiers back from Hohenfels. a declarat că pentru militarii moldoveni, întorşi de la Hohenfels, începe o perioadă nouă, cu posibilitatea de a folosi experienţa obţinută la acest exerciţiu. “It is critical that the skills you learned during your training are shared within the organization and help to shape the tactics, techniques and procedures for the future force”, LTC Stephan said.

The National Army deployed 11 professional service members of the 22nd Peacekeeping Battalion, EOD Battalion and Fulger Special Forces Battalion to participate in the Mission Readiness Exercise. The exercise is held from March 1 to March 25, in Hohenfels and it comprises service members from 12 countries, including Slovenia, Czech Republic, USA, Lithuania, Jordan, Bulgaria, Albania, Romania and Georgia.

“Mission Readeness Exercise” is an exercise conducted by United States Army in Europe and aims to increase the level of cooperation, by training military to participate in peacekeeping operations.
