Future Homeland Defenders Visit Army

Chisinau, May 17, 2013 — A group of pupils from Primary School No.82 from Chisinau visited two National Army units within a military patriotic education and information project carried out by the Ministry of Defense in educational institutions of the country.

First, 25 pupils of the 4th form went to Brigade “Stefan cel Mare”, where they familiarized with the soldiers’ living and training conditions. Children visited the exhibition of military technical equipment on the territory of the unit, the mini-football stadium, the barracks and the museum of the brigade. They pupils also met with LTC Andrian Balan, deputy commander of the unit, and discussed about the peculiarities of military service.

The children’s trip ended at the Center of Military Culture and History, where they visited the contemporary exhibition of white weapons, medieval flags, “Martyrs of Nation” exhibition, the antic and medieval rooms, as well as the World War room.

Maria Moscal, teacher at School No.82, said that such visits are useful for children, because they educate the true spirit of patriotism and gives them the possibility to find out more about the military history of our nation. “I am glad that children were very much interested about the military area, because they are the future defenders of our country”, Maria Moscal stated.

The event was carried out by the General Inspection Division of the Ministry of Defense. It aimed at raising young generation civic awareness, as well as the transparency of the defense institution in the society.

A similar activity was held in April with the participation of 3rd form pupils from High School “Liviu Deleanu”, Chisinau.
