Vitalie Marinuta Takes Oath



CHISINAU, June 31, 2013 — Defense Minister Vitalie Marinuta took the oath in front of Republic of Moldova President, Nicolae Timofti, today, along with the other members of the Cabinet of Ministers.

Nicolae Timofti congratulated the ministers and said he trusted their professionalism.

“The program the Government intends to implement must have the support of Parliament so that all the reform processes go on faster. People expect changes for better from you. Your priority should be the people. I will always support you in reaching this goal”, Nicolae Timofti said.

58 MPs of Pro-European Governing Coalition and the non-affiliated members voted for Republic of Moldova Government led by Iurie Leanca. They also approved the governing program submitted by the Prime Minister.

Vitalie Marinuta was born on June 16, 1970, in Holercani village, Dubasari. He graduated from Airborne Command Military Academy, Reazani, Russia — officer of airborne units, army interpreter of French. In 2000, he completed the course of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, USA. In 2004, he graduated from the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, USA. He holds the title of Master of Security (civil-military affairs).

Vitalie Marinuta studied at the International Relations Faculty of the University of International Affairs and Political Sciences in Chisinau. In 2013, he completed his Master studies in Political Sciences at Public Administration Academy under President of Republic of Moldova.

2006 — 2007 — Chief of International Cooperation & euro-Atlantic Integration Section, Moldovan MoD;

2005 — 2006 —Military Policy Planning Staff Officer at US CENTCOM, Tampa, USA;

2004 — 2005 — Senior Staff Officer, Operations Division, Main Staff, National Army;

2000 — 2002 — Commander, 22nd Peacekeeping Battalion, National Army.
