Defense Minister Meets with Company Commanders of National Army Units

CHISINAU, July 17, 2013 — Minister of Defense Vitalie Marinuta met today with the company commanders of National Army units at the Center of Military Culture and History.

The Defense Minister spoke about the role of the company commander in the training and education of conscripts. Vitalie Marinuta revealed the importance of carrying out dialogues with soldiers in order to insure an appropriate psychological environment during their service. The minister also paid attention to the educational aspect of the military service, focused on consolidation of military discipline of soldiers. “A sound group is based on effective communication between the conscript and his senior. Commanders are close to soldiers, they know their needs and problems and they can prevent interpersonal conflicts within the military group. I ask you to be professional and aware of problems and do your best to raise the work capacity of your military units”, the Defense Minister said.

The event also consisted of a variety of meetings with company commanders, where they spoke about methods of psychological work with subordinates, role of communication and methods of preventing interpersonal conflicts, prophylaxis of traumas and other aspects of military education in the National Army.
