National Army EOD Engineers Dispose 50 kg-Bomb in Ialoveni

Chisinau, October 23, 2013 — Military EOD engineers were called in on Wednesday, October 23, in Ialoveni, where an airbomb of 50 kg was discovered by the local citizens while making some digging works near a household.

The group of engineers, commanded by Cpt. Valentin State, concluded that the explosive device was made in the Soviet period and dated back to World War II. The EOD engineers took the bomb to a quarry in the neighborhood to be destroyed.

This year, National Army EOD engineers disposed over 1700 explosive devices throughout the country.
